"My Common Core Standards Based Notebook!"

Hi everyone!  Finally... it stopped raining and I can see some beautiful sunshine!!!  It has rained for three days solid here in Athens, Georgia and I am going outside to cut my grass.  Sounds like fun doesn't it!  I admit it!  I am one of those nerdy "green thumb" types that loves to work in the yard!  The grass is literally up to my knees but I love it!
Anyway...I wanted to let you all know that I have added some features to My Common Core Second Grade Standards Based Notebook!    I blogged about it a couple of nights ago and told you how excited I am to have it completed!!!  I am so happy to share it with you and hope you will check it out, especially if your state has adopted the Common Core Standards!  In addition to all the Essential Question cards, Word Wall Cards, Student Recording Sheets, "I Can"...Checklists for assessments, and child-friendly graphics for coding of the Domains/Standards... I've added Student Cut & Paste Tickets and Teacher Common Core Labels for Lesson Plans and Worksheets!  These will be super easy to help you show evidence of teaching the Standards and students will take ownership in gluing their tickets on their work samples!
If you have already purchased the packet...PLEASE make sure you download again to get your new Common Core Resources.  I really wanted this Common Core Portfolio/Notebook to be the best it could be for us all... and I feel these additional resources will really come in handy!  Oh...I almost forgot... I also added another student recording sheet titled ABC's and 123's of Learning!  I am going to use this as a journal page in each domain section of the notebook (for students to reflect upon their learning of the Standards).  Thanks friends and I hope you will check it out!  Now...I am heading out to do some much needed yard work!  Talk with you later!-Yvonne :)

  5. Question: Will this work for third grade or do I need to create one using your model for third?

    Thanks!

  7. I was just creating a common core checklist for my class, just finished reading informational text and literature. I wanted a check off sheet so when students have mastered it I can date and check it and place in their data notebook. Low and behold, I was checking my pinterest and saw this! Do you have a teacher check off sheet? I mean my goodness you have 200 pages, I sat here for over an hour just on those 2, I will download yours. Thanks

    1. Hi Misty! You are so funny. I know what you mean about it taking a while. It took me a month to make this pack but I feel it will really help us all this year! Yes...I do have checklists.:) They are worded in "I Can" statements and the students check them off when they are mastered to place in their portfolios. They also have work sample/evidence of learning forms to attach to papers/projects/pictures of show how they've mastered the Standards. It sounds like we are on the same page with what we made. Hope you could use it! :) Thanks!-Yvonne

I would love for you to check it out as soon as it is done. I hope to have it finished in a couple of weeks at the latest. I am so excited that these will work for us all and help us with the Common Core! Thank you!-Yvonne

  9. This looks great! I know you are from GA...does it follow the GA common core standards?

  10. Hi Veen! Great question. We use the CCGPS here in Georgia but I am coding the posters/notebook resources by the Common Core Standard codes. They do match if you compare the two. Thanks!-Yvonne

  11. This is to DIE for!!!!!! I teach 3rd grade and can't wait for your next notebook to come out! Our school district officially transitions to the CCSS for all grades this fall and I was dreading the notion of creating all new objective posters, etc. to align. THANK YOU for saving me time, money, and "face" with my administrators! ;)

  13. Could this be adapted for upper grades? (6th/Math)

  14. Hi Arlene! I'm sure it could be adapted. To be honest...I am a little nervous to go that high in levels due to questioning for the EQ cards and student checklists. I have only taught through 2nd grade levels and would prefer to stick to elementary levels. I could look at the standards but don't think I will be making anything beyond 4th or 5th. Thank you!-Yvonne :)
